I am first of all, through no worth of my own and solely by the grace of God, a Christian.  Please understand the previous statement and give it the ultimate position in your understanding of who I am.  My past achievements, instead of being worthy, were instrumental in keeping me distracted and too busy to devote the time and attention necessary to develop a close and personal relationship with God; therefore, they are not representative of who I am now.  I am 63 years young, the father to two sons and the grandfather of two beautiful daughters.  I am a retired Lieutenant Colonel from the U. S. Marine Corps, having flown aircraft (both rotary and multi-engine fixed wing) over much of the world’s surface.  I worked eleven years for Merrill Lynch as an Executive Vice-President in financial management; bought and operated a large-scale poultry farm (I claim temporary insanity) in lower Alabama for five years; this trial ended (2000) when God allowed cancer to remove me from the “work” environment and then through the unction of the Holy Spirit to devote my full time and energies to the study of His Word in order to come to a deeper understanding of the Persons of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.  I have a BS degree from Auburn University and an MA in Bible Exposition from Pensacola Theological Seminary (Pensacola Christian College).  As a result of the aforementioned cancer and its treatments (7,800+ rads of radiation and 3 months chemotherapy; simultaneous) I have a severe hearing deficit, no functioning salivary glands (dry mouth), and a condition (blessing) whereby I have exemplary discernment of right vs wrong; truth vs untruth; but some difficulty in forming the sentences (recalling the correct words) necessary to carry out a fast-paced discussion of any subject.  Through the power of God’s Word and through striving diligently to submit to His Lordship in all areas of my life, this condition is slowly being alleviated and/or overcome.  Praise God!

My primary goal in life now is to continue to grow in grace and in the knowledge of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  That means, of course, being the father, grandfather, neighbor, member of the body of Christ, etc. etc., that my Lord and Savior deserves.  It is Christ that liveth in me that matters!!  It is no longer about me.  To God be the glory.
